Carla Schmidt

Carla Jean Schmidt, age 65, passed away on August 19, 2021 at 12:34 p.m. at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Carla was born December 8, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to Marion and Norma (Renfro) Kenney.

Carla Jean Kenney married Dale Dean Schmidt as well as Magan Schmidt (age 2) Feb 18, 1978 at Double Branch Church. Carla and Dale were married for 43 years.

She was very loving and caring to all that met her. She loved Jesus and loved serving Him at Rich Hill Christian Church where she was a committed member. Many nights you could find Carla sewing at the church, making Christmas stockings for the Division of Family Services for kids in foster care, or making quilts with Becky Humble and other church ladies for the High School Seniors in the church. She loved and enjoyed her church family. Carla also enjoyed and adored her daughters, Magan and Jenni.  Carla was loved and will be missed by many.

Carla was proceeded in death with her mother Norma J. Kenney and father Marion A. Kenney; and her brother Bruce Gilkey. She is survived her husband, Dale Schmidt; her daughters, Magan M. Schmidt and Jennifer J. Schmidt; brothers, Brad E. Perry and wife Cecilia, Steven A. Kenney and wife Karen, and Norman A. Kenney; grandchildren, Bryan J. Nelson and wife Sheyenne, and Bethany M. Schmidt; and three great-grandchildren, Kaleb D. Nelson, Eliza (Izzy) G. Nelson, and Lilly J. Nelson.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Rich Hill Christian Church with burial in the Fairview Cemetery in Butler, Missouri.  The family will receive friends, Thursday August 26, 2021 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Rich Hill Christian Church.  The family suggest memorial contributions to the Rich Hill Christian Church.  The family asks that social distancing be maintained and masks be worn.  Services under the direction of the Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill, Missouri.
