James "Jim" Rankin

October 13, 1946 — July 3, 2020

ames W. Rankin, 73, died from health complications July 3, 2020 at his home in Foster, Missouri. He was born October 13, 1946 in Butler, Missouri, the son of Walter Arther Rankin and Genevieve Florene (Schooley) Rankin.
Jim graduated from the Rich Hill High School in 1964. Following graduation married Janet Louise (Isaacson) Rankin in November of 1967 and settled in Foster, Missouri. They celebrated 52 years of marriage this past November.  During that time, Jim served with the Kansas National Guard for 5 years. He was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church, as well as serving on the board for the Woodfin cemetery.
Jim enjoyed working with his hands and believed that through hard work, most visions could be accomplished. He often times could be found outside working on wood-working projects, tinkering with his large equipment or trucks and getting hay cut, raked and baled. He also enjoyed camping and being at the lake with his wife and family when the weather permitted. One of his favorite tasks was hauling produce for the Old-Order Mennonites, as well as assisting them whenever possible with personal matters.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Janet L. (Isaacson) Rankin, are his son, Jared L. Rankin and his wife, Janett L. (Nachbar) Rankin of Moundville, Mo. Two grandchildren, Dr. Janessa L. Rankin of Springfield, Mo and Jarrek L. Rankin of Nevada, Mo, as well as two great grandchildren, Kinsley J. Rankin and Kaiden L. Rankin. He is also survived by his beloved adopted fur-child, Thumper, of Foster, Missouri
