Joann Allison Buterbaugh

October 23, 1934 — March 8, 2026

Rich Hill, Missouri

JoAnn Falk Allison Buterbaugh, born in KCKS on October 23, 1934, was called to her heavenly home on March 8, 2026. During her well-blessed life, she was a daughter, sister, wife, mom, grandma, Sunday School teacher, school room mother (for multiple classes and years), artist, baker and cake decorator, seamstress, gardener and canner plus so much more. After the death of Vern Allison, her first husband and father of her six children, she fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse. One of her patients introduced her to Richard Buterbaugh whom she married, adding the joyful role of a dairy farmer's wife. In 2016, yet another purpose was woven into her life as God used her serving spirit as His “right hand” assisting with the establishment of the Carpenters Cup, truly a ministry.

JoAnn leaves behind a stepdaughter, Shirley Bird, three daughters, Phyllis Boren, Becky Clift, and Barb Brooks (Frank), two sons, Mark Allison (Angela) and Matt Allison (Red) 21 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and oldest son, Paul Allison.

On March 14, 2026 a Celebration of Life will be held at the Rich Hill Christian Church, which she loved and was an active member of for many many years. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM and services following at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Carpenter’s Cup.
