Keith Becker

October 24, 1950 — June 5, 2020

Keith Edward Becker was born on October 24, 1950 to Alvin and Evelyn (Koehn) Becker. To this union, four children were born: Jo Marie, Bruce, Keith, and Iris. Keith grew up south of Butler helping his family farm the cornland bottoms using the family’s Farmall tractor.
On June 6, 1970, Keith married his love, Jackie Heuser of Rich Hill, where they spent the remainder of their life together; they were married for 50 years. Keith and Jackie were blessed with three handsome boys: Bryan in 1973, Michael in 1976, and Kyle in 1980.
Keith began his trucking career in 1972. This is when he became known to many as “Red Rooster”. Spending nearly 40 years driving the highways in his 1967 Kenworth W900 to provide for his family.  Trucking was one thing he genuinely enjoyed. In 1991, toward the end of his trucking career, he and Jackie purchased Heuser Hardware which is still in operation today.
Keith enjoyed collecting anything old or anything he found interesting. Repairing and restoring old bikes, toys, and antique cars was one of his favorite pastimes. He also loved taking his family on vacation to Stockton Lake where they enjoyed boating, tubing, skiing, and camping with their close friends, Vicky and Everett Schmidt and their two boys. Trips out west, like trout fishing in Colorado and the western states road trip where they visited the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone, were some of their most memorable times.
Later in life when his boys married and began families of their own, he embraced the role of Grandpa. Keith was blessed with six beautiful grandchildren forming a special bond with each one. Keith loved taking them for rides on his John Deere mower and tractor and sometimes would take them for a drive in the semi.  He also spent countless hours fixing their toys.
Keith passed away peacefully at 4:11 p.m. on June 5, 2020 at Research Hospital with his wife and children by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie; his three sons, Bryan (wife Jerilyn), Michael, and Kyle (wife Jamie); six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Myles, Hannah, Zane, Michaela, and Luke, all of Rich Hill; two sisters, Jo Marie Seiler (husband Don) and Iris Boehs (husband Max); one brother, Bruce Becker (wife Joyce); one brother-in-law, Kenny Heuser (wife Kathie); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Evelyn Becker; parents-in-law, Kenneth “Bud” and Melva Lee Heuser; one niece, Becky Boehs; and one great-niece, LeAnn Becker.
