Obituary

Betty Louise Todd ( Housh) passed away peacefully in her home, on November 21st, 2021. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Clarence and Mary Housh, and her sister Judy Chapin as well as her great-grandson Ryan. Betty is survived by her 3  children; Sherri Miller Elenz, Kandy Miller Watkins and Charles Todd Jr, as well as her brother Clarence Housh Jr., nephews Ron Goddard, Darell Goddard, David Housh and Clarence Housh III.; nieces Tammy Housh and Marjorie Beam. She has 3 grandchildren Rachel Conner, Jayce Watkins and Nicholas Watkins as well as 6 great grandchildren, Alexis, Brenner, Ava, Lilly, Gavin and Jack. Betty spent her life in service to others as a home health care nurse in Estes Park, CO and spent most of her life passionately running Friends Indian Aid, a non-profit organization serving Pine Ridge and Rose Bud Indian Reservations in South Dakota.  Betty was a talented artist and enjoyed painting murals. She loved gardening and animals but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.  Betty was born in Smithville, MO and eventually relocated to Estes Park, CO. In her latter years she shared her time between Missouri and Mississippi so she could be closer to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Redeemer Episcopal Church in Kansas City, MO. On March 12th at 10:30 am. Reception with light refreshments immediately following. Services were delayed due to Covid and masks are certainly welcomed.  Betty's final wish was for her ashes to be spread on Pikes Peak in the Rocky Mountains. A remembrance stone will be placed next to her parents' at Line Creek Cemetery in Platte Woods, MO.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to your local animal shelter in her honor as she was incredibly passionate about animal rescue and was devoted to her cats, dogs and horses.
