Shirley Gann

Shirley Jean (Colton) Gann was born January 26th, 1951 in Harrisoville, Missouri to James Edwin and Bonnie Arlene(Twillegar) Colton. She passed away September 7, 2021 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada Missouri.  She graduated Metz High School in 1969 before joining the United States Army.

Shirley married Melvin Gann on February 22, 1970 in Arthur, Missouri. Melvin and Shirley met during their time together in the Army. After being discharged from the Army, Shirley spent many years as a housekeeper for various nursing homes. Shirley loved her dog, Ruckus, and cat, Tank. She enjoyed going to the lake with her family, watching the races at Nevada Speedway, going on day trips with her daughters, and visiting with her children and grandchildren. Shirley loved getting pictures of her great grandchildren and loved bragging about them.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin; her parents, James and Bonnie; one brother, Terry Colton; one sister, Patricia Hollandsworth; and her honorary son-in-law, Karl Lehmann.

Shirley was survived by her daughters: Cynthia West (Bobby), Kristy Stinnette (Travis), Pamela Black, and April Green; Grandchildren: Bobby, Kristyn, Walter (Wayne), Larry (Bub), Tisha, Dusty, Alan, Shaylynn, Colton, Beckett, Zachary, and Madeline. She was also survived by her brothers: Kent Twillegar (Mary), Jim Colton (Yvonne) and Robert Colton; sisters: Glenda Thomas (Jackie) and Donna Rowland (Lonne). She will also be missed by her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Graveside funeral service will be held 10 am Monday, September 13, 2021 at Green Lawn Cemetery, Rich Hill, Missouri.  Online condolences can be left at www.heuserfunerals.com.
